Continuing education units
We are approved and licensed to issue CEUs for a variety of professionals. These free or paid CEUs can be issued for participation in live or archived webinars respectively, and are hosted by us or other collaborating organizations.
IDHD’s Community Education Program is approved and licensed to issue CEUs for:
- Advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses
- Clinical psychologists
- Illinois teachers professional development (PD)
- Licensed clinical social workers, licensed social workers, licensed professional counselors and licensed clinical professional counselors
- Licensed dietitian nutritionists (RD)
- Nursing home administrators
- Occupational therapists
- Physical therapists
- Qualified intellectual disabilities professionals
- Speech language pathologists
- Qualified intellectual disability professional (no license number)
Certificate program
The UIC DHD offers a graduate-level certificate program that can be taken through distance learning by people from the community looking to further their education or by trainees within one of our degree programs looking for additional specialization and certifications.
Assistive Technology Certificate
The ATCP is the only CAAHEP-Accredited Program with an online option. The program prepares professionals to deliver state of the art assistive technology services to people with physical, cognitive or sensory disabilities.
